Moving Bed Biofilm Reactors represent an innovative, reliable and flexible solution for wastewater treatment. MBBR solution employs thousands of plastic biofilm carriers operating in mixed motion within an aerated wastewater treatment basin. Each individual biocarrier increases productivity by providing a protected high surface area to promote the growth of heterotrophic and autotrophic bacteria within its cell. The main advantage is a high biomass specific activity that lets to reduce up to 3-5 times the volume for biological oxidation if compared to a conventional activated sludge technology.
